Another something new to the world-wide-web, The Friends of Cazenovia Library has their new website online right now.

And this is the replacement:

By: Cindyk. I have been blogging for some time about a street light (pole #155) on Cazenovia Street in South Buffalo. I made my complaint to Mayor Brown’s Call & Resolution Center and have monitored the status for several weeks.
Today I checked back to find the status of my complaint has been closed with a resolution description.
Service Number 272981
Complaint Type: DAMAGE TO STREET LIGHT POST
Submitted On: 2007-11-11T13:19:11.0000000-05:00
Complaint District:
Complaint Address: 0 CAZENOVIA 14210
Complaint Description: 2 POLES ON CAZENOVIA ST. NEED TO BE FIXED. POLE 155 IN FRONT OF THE CAZ LIBRARY IS MISSING ITS LIGHT (IT’S VERY DARK AT NIGHT). THE SECOND IS 206 (AT PEREMONT PL), ITS WIRES ARE OUTSIDE OF THE POLE & HAVE BEEN MICKEY-MOUSED TO A LINE THAT CROSSES CAZ ST. I HAVE SOME PICTURES HERE: HTTP://SOUTHBUFFALOBLOGGER.WNYMEDIA.NET/BLOGS/2007/11/04/NEW-CAZENOVIA-STREET-SAME-OLD-RUSTED-STREET-LIGHT/
Referred To: The Department of Public Works - Engineering
Status: CLOSED
Closing Date: 2007-12-19T00:00:00.0000000-05:00
Resolution Description: THIS COMPLAINT HAS BEEN REFERRED TO THE NATIONAL GRID.
Today, I also checked back with the pole:

Is National Grid obligated to fix a City of Buffalo street light pole?
Exactly how hard is it to get a rusted out street light pole replaced?
Updated: 12/21/07
I received in the mail this morning a letter from the City of Buffalo confirming the status on my complaint. Whereas it raises more questions.

The arrow is pointing to the part where it says:
We will continue to work with “them” (National Grid) regarding your concern until we (the City of Buffalo) can reach a satisfactory resolution pertaining to this matter.
If the City is still going to work with National Grid until this matter is resolved, why is the status of my complaint closed?
By. Cindyk. Any day now … I keep thinking someone is going to come out and remove the old rusted up street light in front of the Cazenovia Library that I’ve been blogging about:

November 29, 2007
November 27, 2007
November 20, 2007
November 4, 2007
September 10, 2007
After another winter of plowing and salting, we won’t have to wait on the city of Buffalo to take this pole down, it’ll come down on it’s own.

As previously posted, the Cazenovia Library will for the first time (ever) have handicap access. Over the last couple of months, it’s becoming reality.

By: Cindyk. The age-old saying “what a difference a day makes” is alive & well in South Buffalo.

I blogged about this mix-up in poles on Tuesday, I met with my Councilman for a few minutes on Wednesday (I told him I already have stories up on the internet about the streetlight poles) and today pole #206 on Cazenovia Street had a full crew working.

It might be small potatoes to some, but it’s the little things that can be done to make a City a better place. HT Councilman Kearns for taking a few minutes to listen to the concerns of South Buffalo residents. He along with others have stated pole #155 is also a concern.

Updates are sure to follow.
