By: CindyK. I was told a while ago that The Key Bank branch on Seneca Street (near Cazenovia St.) would be undergoing some renovations, and they have. The bank is remaining open with regular business hours during the remodeling. Not only is this project good for their business, it's an investment in our South Buffalo neighborhood.

By: Cindyk. It has been a very long year, but a great one nonetheless. Today, the last of the work to Cazenovia Street in South Buffalo was complete. They shoveled & rolled out the black top this morning and by this afternoon new lines were painted down the middle of the road.
I have a series of before, during and after pictures to share.

Lastly, from the edge of the Cazenovia Street Bridge to Seneca Street …. Welcome to the NEW Cazenovia Street!

To the many people who have supported this effort, we thank you.
South District Councilman Mickey Kearns was very instumental in this project, he saw the need for this repave, he sought it through in the City the Buffalo and for that the residents of Cazenovia Street are grateful.
By: Cindyk. To some this might not be a big deal, but to Cazenovia Street, a little extended repave is going to go a long way.
Five months ago it was announced the repave would be from Seneca to North Legion, today the construction trucks went a little further. Sadly the project isn't going over the Cazenovia Street bridge, but it is going up to the bridge.
The pictures show the difference that will be made. The first is what the street looked like before:

This one is how it looks today:

By: CindyK. The construction trucks rolled up this morning and at 8:30 sharp they began the first stages of the repave project on Cazenovia Street in South Buffalo.

Day 1: Caz Street - It's been long-time coming.

By: Cindyk. Returning to the Cazenovia Street Bridge. It took me a while to get back to this topic, but here we are and in this picture, it's supposed to be like this:

I talked to one of the head engineers in the City of Buffalo, after a phone call, he knew exactly what I was talking about. This is supposed to happen because it's made like a bumped to prevent this kind of damage to the original wall of the brigde's foundation. This apron (I like calling it) was added a year after the bridge was built and the first sightings of the ice Jams Caz Creek is famous for.
Other areas up-under the bridge are and have been closely monitored by NYS inspectors.

Milling the surface in a repave would cause a lot of damage to this bridge, it's strong enough the way it is, but if there is to be a resurfacing…. it will come with a complete bridge replacement like Stevenson Street, Southside, and the Park bridges in the recent past.

But he agreed that other repairs can be made.

I'll probably still keep questioning this bridge, but I finally got the answers that were specific to my concerns.
This morning about a hundred parishioners between Grace Lutheran and St. Simon's Episcopal churches lined Cazenovia Street for outdoor church services and world wide communion.
