Cleaning up Seneca Street
I guess some minor things can be done to help Seneca Street become more appealing.

In this week's edition of the South Buffalo News is an article following up some Q&A from a recent Seneca Rising public forum. Questions were asked of our Councilman Mickey Kearns and he answered them. Question like:
Seneca St. is in terrible shape. When will Seneca St. be repaved?
As a business owner, what can I do about people loitering outside of my business?
There are a lot of home owners that don't take care of their property. How do we hold them accountable?
Honestly, we need to see more stories like this in our little local newspaper.
If you haven't picked up your copy of the South Buffalo News yet, you can visit Seneca Rising's website or link to the questions & answers here.
While Cazenovia Street is still waiting on its repave this year, atleast we know Seneca Street's repave will come sometime next year.
I have had many South Buffalo residents ask me both on and offline why the statue of Red Jacket at Seneca and Cazenovia Streets was facing towards an empty building.
Today, it was turned facing towards Cazenovia Park. It's not much, but it's a difference.
Bridge: CAZENOVIA STREET
Location: NW QUAD OF CAZENOVIA PARK,
Feature crossing: CAZENOVIA CREEK,
Owner: City,
Built or replaced: 1953
Last inspected: 6/23/2006
Status: N (“N” means neither structurally deficient, or functionally obsolete)
But looking at these pictures, the Cazenovia Street Bridge is far from being a perfect structure.

By: Cindyk. I hope someday someone will take the pictures of the Cazenovia Street Bridge seriously. While we wait, I have a few more "closer" pictures to share.
I wanted to get a closer look at the Cazenovia Creek Bridge that is listed as structurally deficient. This is at a deeper part of the Cazenovia Creek before it meets up with the Buffalo River. It is hard to get close, but I took a few pictures closer than the naked eye.
Since I was still on Bailey Ave. I thought I'd take a look at the bridge over the Buffalo River
I'm not an expert but even the pavement over these two bridges is better than the Cazenovia Street Bridge, and what's happening with its foundation below.

I couldn't stay long enough to know who the winner was, but I took a bunch of pictures. Enjoy

This is what the foundation of the Cazenovia Street bridge looks like now (Summer of 2007) and while BBD is giving some great opinions on his blog, I am putting the question out there to ask:
What will the foundation look like after a spring of rising creek levels and ice jamming?
This picture below gives you an idea of the rising (and rushing) creek waters in the Spring
